Teen drunks

While the Sky Fawkes event at Snells Beach on Saturday night was well organised, Warkworth police say after the event finished a few groups of intoxicated youngsters aged 14 to 18 caused trouble.

Sergeant Bede Haughey says it was disturbing dropping home intoxicated 14-year-olds and being told by their parents they didn’t know where they were or who they were with.

Mr Haughey says police will take a zero tolerance to liquor offences after Rodney public area liquor bans are introduced on December 9.
