A two-vehicle crash on State Highway 1 in Warkworth was in the right place - outside the St John Ambulance station.
Warkworth firefighters attended the head-on crash at 6.15am on Sunday between a white BMW and a four-wheel-drive vehicle.
The BMW occupant was taken to hospital with both legs broken. The driver of the other vehicle was badly shaken but uninjured.
