When Frank Morey bought a packet of tomato seeds to plant, he did not think he would end up with a giant on his hands.

His tomato weighs 615 grams and has a diameter of "probably about 13 centimetres".

Mr Morey says he has been planting tomatoes for more than 70 years but this is the biggest one he has grown.

"I was elated when I found it in the garden. It’s my pride and joy," he says. His tomato has attracted a few comments from those he knows, with one saying it looked like a pumpkin.

Mr Morey waters his tomatoes daily and adds liquid manure every second day.
