Great weather, a good crowd and Santa were highlights of Warkworth's Christmas Parade on Saturday.
There were 27 floats in the parade with Mahurangi Kindergarten and Warkworth Primary School winning cash prizes for the best entries.
The judges deemed Mahurangi Kindergarten to be the best as the parade made its first lap of the town centre, while the crowd judged Warkworth Primary School the most popular on the parade's second lap.
The kindergarten's present-covered float had children dressed as Christmas presents bursting out of a sack, while the school's float was themed Christmas Children.
Liz McClean of the Warkworth and Area Business Association says all the floats were amazing.
Another favourite was a pirate ship-themed entry from Wynyard Wood lawyers.
Santa Claus was popular, of course. He was in demand for photographs at Santa's Grotto at Mitre 10 well after the parade had finished.
Warkworth's community and businesses had contributed to the success of the parade.
These included the Wellsford Promotions Group lending their Santa sleigh, The Warehouse Snells Beach which donated a huge Christmas tree, Mitre 10 Mega Warkworth for building Santa's grotto, Transcon for transporting Santa's sleigh, Warkworth Rotary for providing street marshalls, Warkworth Inn for use of their premises, Kodak Express for taking photos of people with Santa, Little Faces for face-painting, and Rhodes for Roads for road closures and other work.
