Burglaries on Whangaparaoa Peninsula hit high

A spike in the number of burglaries is recorded for the Whangaparaoa Peninsula during the past two months.

Increases in burglaries from homes, businesses and from recreational boats were reported to Whangaparaoa police.

After searching two properties police recovered items.

A man has been charged with 12 burglaries and three theft offences and police believe he may be responsible for several other offences in the area.

Much of the work was led by Constable Brett Hanly from the Whangaparaoa police inquiry section.

Police encourage people to report suspicious behaviour straight away.
