A new walking and cycling map provides guidelines around the Orewa Estuary area.
The Auckland Transport map highlights the 7.5km shared Te Ara Tahuna pathway and the many walkways, off-road paths and safe cycle routes.
It also has a code of conduct.
On the first Sunday of each month between 10am to noon, Auckland Transport has "ride and repair" stations in the Western Reserve where a bike mechanic can make minor adjustments and show riders how to check their bikes for safety.
Guided rides along the estuary path are available too.
The map can be downloaded from the website aucklandtransport. govt.nz/moving-around/biking-cycleways/cyclings-the-go.
They can also be collected from the reception desk at the Auckland Council Orewa office and library and leisure centres in the area.
