109 sections being developed
A once popular unofficial motocross and mountain biking area is being transformed into residential property on Wade River Rd.
Cabra Developments is transforming the 24-hectare land for 109 residential sections and 15 mixed-use sites.
Stage one is well under way with 45 sites under construction which will be accessed from Wade River Rd. The sections are expected to be completed in June.
Stage two will include sections further down the hill, with the proposed road eventually linking up with Karepiro Drive, past Mitre 10.
"The zoning at the top of the property is low density, consisting of larger sites of around 4000 square metres with about three-quarters of the final site areas covered in native bush, which we are retaining, and enhancing," Cabra project manager Duncan Unsworth says.
The balance of sites are medium density, mostly between 600sqm and 800sqm.
"There is a lot of contour over the land and there's only so many sections we can create due to the topography and restrictions on retaining wall heights."
Cabra is also well under way with a Huapai development. The 250-site project started in October and the first 68 sections should be ready in June. Also on the books is a Riverhead development of 61 sections.
