Three teams from the Hibiscus Coast-based Pacific Cheerleaders took part in the Northland Cheer and Dance Invitationals held in Whangarei on September 19.
The Pacific Junior, Pacific Senior teams and the Kristin School Cheer Squad all did well, taking a few awards.
Several members of the teams also competed in duo, stunt and individual divisions.
Because this is only their second major competition, the cheerleaders were very excited about their first away competition.
They brought home a second and two thirds in the teams events, a third and fourth in the individual and a fourth in the duo divisions.
Pacific Cheerleaders’ third competition this year will be the NZ Cheer and Dance Internationals at the Waitakere Trusts Stadium on Sunday, October 18.
This will be the biggest competition of the year, and they are hoping for improved results.
The cheerleaders will also be at the Orewa Beach 8 Hour Teams Challenge on Sunday.
They will be doing displays and various fun activities to show what cheerleading is all about, and they are always interested in gaining more members.
