Aussies enlist Miranda Kerr for World Cup
Perhaps feeling a little under-done in the looks department, the Wallabies have launched their World Cup campaign by enlisting the help of supermodel Miranda Kerr.
Kerr and Wallabies legend John Eales launched Australia's "Great Crusade" with a sausage sizzle at Auckland's Viaduct this morning.
Though the torrential rain forced the celebrities into the shelter of The Cloud, it did not stop several renditions of Waltzing Matilda from a 25-campervan convoy that Qantas has arranged to tour the country, following the team.
The Wallabies play their first game of the tournament against Italy at North Harbour Stadium this afternoon.
Kerr, who is married to film star Orlando Bloom, said she was "thrilled" to be part of the supporter's tour.
"Its awesome to see such passionate fans supporting the Wallabies, the six week Great Crusade convoy is the perfect way for fans to get behind the team and see New Zealand at the same time," she said.
Kerr was going to attend the Wallabies game with her eight-month-old son Flynn but would not be joining the campervan tour that was following the team.
