The Lite-House development in Surfdale won two categories in the Master Builders House of the Year regional awards on Saturday.
The sustainable building, a mixed use residential and commercial development, was designed by Bryce Ardern of Ardern UDB and built by Lite-House.
The team is happy with the awards.
"It's been a huge team effort and we're really proud to get the results that we have, both in terms of the completed building and the recognition with the Master Builders awards," Mr Ardern says.
The building at 14 Hamilton Rd got a gold award in the new home $450,000 to $600,000 category and won the category overall. It also got a gold in the sustainable homes category $500,000 to $1 million and won that section overall. The building also won a gold in the retail/business category and received an energy efficiency award.
Another Waiheke building, Casita Miro restaurant at Miro Vineyard in Onetangi, won a gold in the tourism and leisure project category.
Gold award winners go on to become national finalists and the national winners will be announced at a gala dinner in November.
