Volunteers are being sought for the annual Farmers Santa Parade in Auckland city.
In particular organisers are on the lookout for girls and boys aged 9 to 11 to become pirates and fairies for the day.
Each year it takes thousands of volunteers to make the parade happen and organisers are always looking for active, energetic performers to help kick start the festive season and strut their stuff beside enchanting floats.
It's not just fairies and pirates they're after - there are many positions that need to be filled and organisers are seeking children and adults alike who love to dress up in costume.
Parade organiser Pam Glaser says Christmas is a truly magical time and the parade needs volunteers who are eager to share in the joy of the season.
Behind-the-scene volunteers are also needed. They must be older than 18 years and willing to help as marshals, banner carriers, costume minders and the like.
This year, Santa makes his way through Auckland city on November 25. The rain date is December 2.
Waiheke Island will be also having its own separate celebrations.
For information on becoming a volunteer phone 358 2395 or visit santaparade.co.nz and head to the volunteer page.
