"Stop the presses" is the message from Rangihoua Estate olive grove on Waiheke Island.
The boutique extra virgin olive oil producer has just won "Best in Show" at the New Zealand Gourmet Oil Competition for its 2012 Waiheke Blend.
Owners Anne Stanimiroff and Colin Sayles are stoked with the accolade which comes hot on the heels of Supreme Champion award at the Royal Easter Show, awarded to the same Waiheke Blend.
The show attracts stiff competition from extra virgin olive oil producers from around the country. The Waiheke Blend also took out the Delicate category at the awards.
The Rangihoua Estate extra virgin olive oils will be available to try at the Waiheke Olive and Artisan Food Festival at Rangihoua Estate on November 24 and 25.
The festival is open from 11am to 5pm on both days and will feature other Waiheke Island olive oil and boutique food producers, beer, Waiheke wine and live entertainment. Entry is $15.
