International Volunteers Day will be celebrated with a barbecue at Piritahi Marae for Waiheke's large number of volunteers.
The Waiheke Island Council of Social Services is calling for community groups to nominate their most valued volunteers so they can be recognised and celebrated.
The organisation is repeating the event and hosting the free barbecue again due to the success of last year's celebration at the marae.
Thanks to funding from the Waiheke Local Board, it will take place on December 5 between 5pm and 7pm with all volunteers and their families welcome.
Community group representatives should call WICOSS co-ordinator Maggie Wikaira on 372 8258. Or email email@example.com by Monday, December 3, to confirm numbers of people attending.
