The island's toy lending service is offering a special Christmas membership deal for parents with young children.
The Waiheke Toy Library is a registered charity run by its members that gives families access to a wide range of toys for a small membership fee.
The library is offering gift vouchers for memberships to the library with the bonus of three additional months. The gift memberships start in January and run until the end of March 2014.
Toy library co-ordinator Denise Whitfield says: "We think it's a great gift idea for grandparents, family or friends to give young Waiheke families access to a wide range of toys over a 15-month period. Families can choose new toys each fortnight, so Christmas can last all year."
The two membership options are a $50 rostered membership where each member family is rostered to help at the toy library three times a year, or a $150 non-rostered membership.
Members have access to more than 400 quality educational toys suitable for babies to 6-year-olds.
