SUITED UP: Auckland mayor Len Brown enjoys the thrills of the new adventure attraction EcoZip in Onetangi.

A suited-up mayor had to lose the tie and jacket before taking to the air and flying above the bush to enjoy the views of Onetangi and beyond.

Mayor Len Brown took up the invitation from EcoZip Adventures' Jeremy Zinzan and Gavin Oliver to try out the new eco-friendly flying fox constructed on top of Peacock Ridge and took along the chair woman of the local board Faye Storer to have a go too.

The pair were geared up and talked through the safety arrangements before zipping across the vineyard trail, the first of three 200-metre flying fox ziplines.

Mr Brown was full of admiration for the ntsG new tourist nteattraction.

''It's an absolute blast!

''It makes the most of our amazing natural setting, with the bush, harbour and city in the distance. The zipline really shows off everything Auckland has to offer,'' he says.

EcoZip Adventures managing director Mr Oliver says the experience is more an environmental adventure than it is a thrill seekers' ride.

''There are countless exhilarating adventure activities around New Zealand. What EcoZip has created is a chance for people to experience and learn about our native bush - to literally see it from new angles,'' he says.
