Twilight Rambles take place every Tuesday evening this month.
The free guided walks are organised by the Hauraki Gulf Islands branch of Forest & Bird, with funding from the Waiheke Local Board.
The first walk was up to the top of the landmark Rangihoua.
The next, on January 15, will take in Okoka, Wharetana and Oakura bays on the Te Whau peninsula.
Walkers should meet ready to set off at 6pm at the Wharetana walkway entrance signposted on Rothchild Ave, Te Whau.
Under the guidance of local historian Paul Monin, trampers will take a walk back in time to celebrate the stories that the land still holds in these three bays brimming with history.
The ramble will finish with a sausage sizzle at about 8pm.
Everyone is welcome.
