Waiheke Community Art Gallery has been endorsed by a hot New York publication.
The New York Times' 36 Six Hours in Asia and Oceania has recommended the gallery as a go-to destination.
It appears in its book of weekend travel itineraries to memorable destinations.
Gallery director Linda Chalmers says the news is an incredible thrill.
"This is a real endorsement of the role the gallery plays in hosting visitors to Waiheke. We showcase artwork created on the island and from other parts of New Zealand so visitors experience a snapshot of our creative community plus unique works from other parts of the country."
The gallery's biennial headland - Sculpture on the Gulf exhibition was also noted as a "must see" in the New York Times in January.
The gallery has two new exhibitions opening this Friday - Karl Maughan's Contemporary Gardens and Marti Friedlander's - A self portrait.
