A man is in intensive care in hospital after coming off his motorbike.

He was travelling from Onetangi to Ostend on Wednesday and lost control just before 4pm on the bend by O'Brien Rd.

Police are keen to hear from anyone who may have seen the incident.

It was the not the only road accident incident this month.

On November 6 at around 5.15pm a truck failed to give way at a stop sign and hit a small Toyota travelling along Miami Ave in Surfdale.

Waiheke Police Sergeant Peter Knight says he does not know who was driving the car but a passenger was checked out by ambulance staff.

"If anyone saw what happened, please contact police," he says.

There was another crash involving two cars on November 16. An Auckland driver failed to stop his car at the sign on Wharf Rd junction with Belgium St, hitting a vehicle being driven by a resident.

It happened at 10.48am on Saturday. Police say no-one seems to have been injured.

Mr Knight says he particularly wants to hear from people who may have witnessed the motorbike crash.

Call 372 1150, in confidence, with information.
