A fun day at Onetangi Sports Park will help a group of fire fighters reach their goal to raise $10,000 for a good cause.
The community event, from 10am till 3pm on Sunday, March 9, will feature activities, entertainment, prizes and raffles.
It is being organised by Luke van Glabeek and seven of his fire-fighting colleagues who will be taking The Firefighter Sky Tower Stair Challenge on May 17.
The challenge raises funds for Leukaemia and Blood Cancer New Zealand which receives no funding from the Government.
The March 9 event will include a bouncy castle, candy floss, face painting and a water slide.
The coastguard, police and ambulance will feature alongside the volunteer fire brigade and there will be a Jaws of Life rescue demonstration.
Music will be provided by Ian Simpson, Al Reeve, Al Anderson, Frankie Hill and Stuart Mairs.
Gold coin donations will be welcome.
Interested stall holders should call Louise on 021 111 3415 or Luke on 027 2727 887 to register.
