More than 3000 people are expected to turn up at the Kelston Community centre for face painting, performances and creative workshops.

Bridget and Levi, both 8, have a special reason to attend.

The year 4 Te Atatu Peninsula Primary pupils are among students from six west Auckland schools who have painted a mural for the event.

All worked alongside an artist on the piece.

Storyfest is sponsored by the Waitakere City Council and Waitakere Licensing Trust.

Performances will include The Travelling Tuataras, Greg the Pirate, Bill ‘n’ Kath, Pasifika Sway and puppet shows.

All are welcome to the family friendly event that has run for 14 years as part of the Going West Books and Writers Festival.

Visit website www.waitakere.govt.nz for more information or call 839-0400.
