World famous TV chef Gordon Ramsey is among celebrities helping raise money for Green Bay Kindergarten.

The controversial Englishmen, well known for not mincing his words, has contributed a recipe for publication in the kindy’s new cookbook.

Musician Ray Columbus, league player Ruben Wiki, television cook Allyson Gofton, dare-devil AJ Hackett and legendary runner Murray Halberg have also taken part.

Proceeds from Spilt Secrets will go towards replacing a 20-year-old playground.

Committee chairwoman and parent Andrea Mooreland started collecting the close-to 150 recipes in 2007.

"Gordon Ramsey was the easiest one to get," Andrea says.

"One of his PR people got straight back to me."

A number of Shortland Street and Outrageous Fortune stars also got on board, along with parents.

"Celebrities took a little bit of time," Andrea says.

"But most were approachable and more than willing."

Two fully autographed books will be auctioned on TradeMe and proceeds from the sale of one of them will go to Starship children’s hospital.

The book will be sold at malls and markets around west Auckland.
