Pollard Cup in Suburbs' trophy case

The regular club rugby season is yet to begin but Suburbs already has a piece of silverware in the cupboard after winning pre-season competition the Pollard Cup.

The Avondale Racecourse team travelled south to take on Papatoetoe in the final and triumphed 20-14.

Masalosalo Tutaia, brother of Silver Ferns netball star Maria Tutaia, scored Suburbs only try, while Simanu Simanu knocked over five penalties.
