Reaching new heights

Haemophiliac Stace Hardley has a new found head for heights.
The Titirangi resident took a stroll around the SkyCity tower this month as a part of a promotional campaign celebrating the Haemophilia Foundation of New Zealand’s 50th birthday.
Foundation president Mr York says Stace is a glowing example of what can be achieved with adequate care and treatment.
He says sufferers in past decades could barely walk in many instances. Now they lead near normal lives.
Haemophilia is a bleeding disorder affecting around 360 New Zealanders.
"We are fortunate in that we receive adequate haemophilia care while 80 per cent of the world’s bleeding disorders community does not," Mr York says.
"The longevity of our organisation would not have been possible without generous donations and we wish to offer our thanks to the public for enabling our work to continue."
