Competing in the world championships of performing arts was one of the most stressful experiences of Mardin Saber's life.
But she wouldn't change a thing.
The 19-year-old received bronze, silver and gold medal awards at the competition in Los Angeles.
She sang six songs, including two she had written herself.
She also scored some potential jobs through talent scouts who were at the champs.
The event is said to be the Olympics of performing arts and contestants compete in singing, dancing, acting and modelling.
Mardin learnt a lot over the two-week competition.
"It was a time of ups and downs," she says.
"I cried so many times because it was so stressful backstage, changing costumes and finding your next CD.
"It was an amazing experience though.
"I learned how much it will take to make it in this industry, and it's tough."
While she would like to take the opportunities agents offered her, this would mean moving to the United States and the Henderson resident isn't quite ready to leave New Zealand yet.
She recently released her first single Come As You Are and the second, Be A Lady, is due out next month.
"I do really want to go to Los Angeles but at the same time I want to work on promoting myself over here first.
"I don't really care about the money – I just love making music," she says.
