The Waitakere Christmas Festival is taking a break this year while the trust that organises it restructures.
Last year the event celebrated its 10th anniversary.
The free show at Parrs Park was hosted by entertainer Pio Terei and featured performances from West Auckland talent including Ewen Gilmour, Shane Cortese and school groups.
Waitakere Christmas Festival Trust chairwoman Christine Shepherd has moved to Australia and says a new structure needs to be organised.
"There will be some changes made to the structure of the festival trust as well as some funding principles that need to be discussed and confirmed with the new Auckland Council.
“We want to give ourselves more time to restructure and plan for the 2013 festival."
Ms Shepherd would like to thank the people who helped make the show happen and says the community should watch out for the festival's return.
The trust is looking for new trustees to take up hands-on voluntary roles in organising the next festival.
