A pedestrian was hit by a cyclist in Avondale on June 20 at about 8.42am.

A pedestrian has been struck by a cyclist in west Auckland.

Police were called to the intersection of Rosebank Rd and Ash Street, in Avondale, on June 20 at 8.42am.

Senior Sergeant Daniel Meade said the patient was taken to Auckland City Hospital with "moderate" injuries.

He said the intersection was blocked for a short time, but was now open.

No further information was available.
