Indecent acts in park

Police are warning users of a Te Atatu walking track to be vigilant after a man was caught committing indecent acts in two separate incidents.

The most recent was on January 29 at 11am when a female jogger at Harbourview People's Reserve spotted a man in bush at the track near the intersection of Vin Santo Lane and Provence Esplanade.

An immediate search of the area was conducted by police, however, the man wasn't found.

He is described as a European aged between 18 and 20 with short, mousy-coloured hair and clean shaven.

He is slim, about 1.65 metres tall and was last seen wearing a navy and grey T-shirt and green pants.

The description also fits a man committing the same act in the park on December 9 last year.

Te Atatu Constable Michael Chan Foung is warning walkway users to be vigilant.

"We don't accept this sort of behaviour but we don't want to deter people from using the track," he says.

Anybody who sees something similar should call 111 immediately.

Contact Mr Foung on 839 0600l or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 anonymously.
