VICTORIOUS: The Waitakere City under-15s are off to Sydney, hoping to qualify for the World Finals in Manchester.

Only one more hurdle stands in the way of the Waitakere City under-15s and Old Trafford.

The side won the New Zealand finals of the Manchester United Premier Cup on the weekend, going through five games undefeated at Bruce Pulman Park.

Waitakere cruised to a 4-0 win over Western Suburbs in the semifinals and defeated Onehunga Sports 1-0 in the final.

The winning score came from an own-goal, deflected off an Onehunga defender after an Alex Grieve strike.

The team travels to Sydney in May for the final phase of qualifying for the World Finals in Manchester later this year.

Coach Chris Turner says it's hard to judge how they will go.

"The Aussies are always good and Old Trafford's still a long way out. But there's a very big carrot there for the boys."
