A beautiful spring day greeted 30 plus tennis players who dusted off their racquets ready to hit a few balls on the opening day Sunday, September 6.
The sky was a magnificent blue and members assembled to put themselves through some fun and at times strenuous ball drills.
The morning included a range of activities - all to keep them on their toes - to improve fitness, ball control, volleying, serving, return of serve, and focusing on the ball. Game play was the easier option compared to the drills and hitting with the ball machine.
In a round of ground strokes, Paul Schwaltz won a can of balls for beating all the other players.
The day was organised by club captain Monica Moy and was a great success with much fun had by all.
The regular club tennis practises are held on Wednesdays and Fridays from 4pm till dark, plus Sundays from 9am till 3pm.
For further tennis information, contact Monica Moy on 372 3006 or Adrian Swift on 372 9697.
