One of the biggest bands to come from the UK in recent years, Mumford and Sons will play three New Zealand shows in November.

The award-winning folk act will play Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch on their first tour here.

The band, led by Marcus Mumford, who recently married Hollywood actress Carey Mulligan, hit the charts with the 2009 album, Sigh No More, which went to No 1 in New Zealand and won them a Brit Award and Billboard Music Award.

They are currently working on a follow-up album, due to be released in September this year.
