What's On
Outrageous pop star Nicki Minaj has been forced to reschedule her first ever trip to New Zealand.
The rapper/singer was scheduled to perform at Auckland's Vector Arena on September 28, with tickets due to go on sale today. But because of "international scheduling conflicts", the New Zealand and Australian tour will now take place sometime in November or December.
The tour's promoters say they are working to bring Minaj to New Zealand and will announce dates as soon as possible. They want to reassure fans the singer will be touring here sometime this year.
People who have bought pre-sale tickets will be emailed today.
Minaj broke the news of her New Zealand visit on Twitter last month.
The Trinidadian-born, New York-raised rapper, singer-songwriter and all round superstar has sold more than three million albums and has more than 13 million followers on Twitter.
It took only a month for Minaj's first album Pink Friday to be certified platinum after its US release. The album boasts the most charted singles by any female rap album in Billboard history and earned her three Grammy Award nominations.
Her follow-up Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded was released in April.
The rapper/singer is known for her flamboyant outfits, ever-changing hairstyles and has a reputation for Diva-like behaviour.
She recently told People magazine: "[My dressing room] looks like something out of Aladdin. Pink flowers and candles, white rugs, couches covered in pink satin."
Earlier this year, at Scotland's T in the Park festival, she reportedly demanded the grass around her dressing room be cut shorter.
Minaj has also been rumoured to become an American Idol judge next season.
