What's On
It has been one of the worst kept secrets, but it's now official: Morrissey will play two New Zealand shows in Auckland and Wellington at the end of the year.
Often credited as the man who opened up indie music for the masses, Morrissey's wit, swelling guitar anthems and down-right grumpiness have defined a musical path that many other bands have since travelled down.
Before going solo, Morrissey was the famed frontman for Manchester band The Smiths, alongside song-writing partner Johnny Marr.
Since the band broke up in 1987, Morrissey has 10 Top 10 singles in the UK, and was named as "one of the most influential artists ever" by NME, with Pitchfork Media calling him "one of the most singular figures in Western popular culture from the last twenty years".
The singer is known for his often critical and contrary views, almost as much as his musical back catalogue.
Joining Morrissey on tour will be American singer/songwriter Kristeen Young who has supported Morrissey across his 2012 world tour.
