This weekend Auckland's Victoria Park will be transformed into a bustling set of restaurants and bars as Taste of Auckland turns the green space into a hospitality hub.

The four-day event attracts thousands of food and wine lovers, with some of the city's finest chefs dishing up some classic - and inventive - plates to feed the masses.

Among the culinary line-up are the taste buds behind Molten, Toto, Poderi Crisci, Kermadec Fine, Vivace, Clooney, Euro and Depot.

The country's top bar tenders will also be shaking things up and Peter Urlich and the Nairobi Trio will provide the soundtrack for the weekend.

In the lead-up to the event, Auckland Now has gone behind the scenes to get a sneak peek at what some of the chefs will serve up.

First up is Nick Honeyman, from The Commons in Takapuna, with his take on Carrot Cake Snapper - combining spiced beignets, carrot puree, cream cheese, baby carrots, ginger and lemon olive oil.

And in the battle of the snapper, check out tomorrow's video featuring Shane Yardley from Fish.
