Silo Park's summer line-up
Summer must be just around the corner with Auckland's Silo Park confirming its entertainment line-up for the fast approaching warmer months.
The public space in Wynyard Quarter will host a series of free events including the return of night markets, outdoor cinema and music performances.
The markets, kicking off every Friday at 5pm, will include food stalls, pop-up clothing stores and on site bars. Waterfront markets will feature entertainment from local and international DJs. They will continue through to Saturday afternoons, alongside the Silo Sessions where local musicians will play a series of free concerts.
On December 1, Silo Park will host its first session of the season with Israeli producer Kalbata taking part in World Together - a mini festival from all corners of the globe. The day will be curated by Nick D and Dick Johnson who will also be joined by a full live band and the Caribeanz Southern Stars Steel Pan Orchestra.
Auckland's only regular open-air cinema, Silo, follows the markets on Friday nights, with films such as The Blues Brothers, Spellbound and Home Alone all showing in the lead up to Christmas.
Every week a short film - curated by Show Me Shorts - will precede the main feature.
