Seven of the world's greatest magicians will cast a spell on Auckland's Civic Theatre in May.
The Illusionists: Witness the Impossible will head to Auckland for a two-week season following sell-out shows at the Sydney Opera House and in Mexico City.
The hand-picked cast of internationally renowned performers create a stage show featuring a mix of optical illusions including Russian roulette, acts of levitation, mind-reading, disappearance and escapes.
The showmanship is inspired by greats of the past, including Houdini, and is combined with contemporary sets and a live band, Z, who usually tour with hip hop legend Nas.
Creative producer Simon Painter said the show was a world first, with each of the seven international illusionists the best in their field.
"From Dan Sperry's shock illusions to comedy magician Jeff Hobson to escapologist Andrew Basso who performs the Houdini inspired underwater escape live on stage, there is no other group of magicians who can deliver the mind-blowing entertainment that The Illusionists do at every show."
