NZ House & Garden readers were given a very special opportunity to meet creative culinary genius Peter Gordon at his Auckland restaurant last weekend.

Guests lucky enough to get their hands on a ticket to "the secret ingredient lunch" were served canapes by Gordon, while sipping on fine champagne, then treated to a three-course lunch with wine matches featuring some of his signature dishes.

The menu of mouth-watering delights took diners' taste buds on a journey from Gordon's soon-to-be-released book Everyday, including farfalle with beetroot pesto, peas and mint, baked eggplant stuffed with lamb and mozzarella, kumara miso mash, Israeli couscous, broadbean amd pistachio salad, roast cauliflower and olives, chocolate ganache membrillo tart with PX cream and raspberry sorbet with honey cream ripple.
