Lauded landscape designer Xanthe White launched her new book The Natural Gardener at Auckland's Biz Dojo co-space gallery last Friday night.
In keeping with White's sustainable philosophies, guests - including designer Ingrid Starnes and artist Billy Apple - drank organic wines from local vineyard Turanga Creek and nibbled on organic raw food from hip new cafe Little Bird.
Beautiful enlarged images from the book were displayed around the gallery.
Random House director Nicola Legat described White, who has previously won two medals at the coveted Royal Chelsea Flower Show, as a "gardening philosopher", due to the care and knowledge she has of plants.
White left the country the day after the launch, heading for Japan where she will represent New Zealand at the Gardening World Cup.
