Do you think Sam Clafin makes a good Finnick Odair?
Ending months of speculations Hunger Games producers have now announced that Sam Clafin has been cast for the role of Finnick Odair.
The British actor, who recently starred as Prince William in Snow White and the Huntsman, had been rumoured to be the studio's favourite for months. Now Lionsgate Studios have confirmed that the 24-year-old will play District 4's golden boy.
He will be joining the stellar cast from the first movie, including Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson and new arrivals like Oscar winner Philip Seymour Hoffman, who has singed on to play Plutarch Heavensbee, the new head game-maker overseeing an annual televised fight to the death staged by a repressive government in post-apocalyptic North America. Sucker Punch actress Jena Malone will also be joining the cast for the role of Johanna Mason.
Claflin starred in Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides and as Prince William in Huntsman. He recently finished The Quiet Ones opposite Mad Men alum Jared Harris and Mary & Martha with two-time Oscar winner Hilary Swank.
Based on the middle book of Suzanne Collins' best-selling trilogy, Catching Fire hits theatres November 22, 2013.
Are you happy with the cast?
