It's goodbye Petra Bagust hello Toni Street, who rejoins her old sparring partner Rawdon Christie on the couch of TV One's Breakfast show.

Bagust announced last month that she would be leaving the show at the end of the year, saying it was ''bloody hard work''.

Street, who has been on maternity leave, had been the co-presenter of TV One's Saturday Breakfast show - a gig she used to share with Christie.

She said she was delighted to be rejoining Christie.

''It will be awesome to be back on the couch with him again. We've got lots of new and exciting ideas for next year, I can't wait to be part of it."

Ross Dagan, TVNZ's head of news and current Affairs,  said Street was chosen for the job because of her background in live television and her recent success on Saturday Breakfast.

"[She] is an incredibly warm, engaging and intelligent presenter."
