A four-minute preview of the highly anticipated of G. I. Joe Retaliation, Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson will feature in advance of Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters.

Johnson, who spent time in Auckland growing up, has recorded a special message for his New Zealand fans we were able to get our hands on.

The film, based on the best-selling Hasbro characters, is the follow-up to the 2009  movie G. I. Joe: The Rose of the Cobra  which grossed more than US$300 million worldwide.

In the sequel, the G.I. Joes are not only fighting their mortal enemy Cobra, they are forced to contend with threats from within the government that jeopardise their very existence.

The film stars D.J. Cotrona, Byung-hun Lee, Adrianne Palicki, Ray Park, Jonathan Pryce, Ray Stevenson, Elodie Yung, Channing Tatum with Bruce Willis and Dwayne Johnson.

G. I. Joe Retaliation opens on March 28, Hansel & Gretel opens on Thursday.
