Singer Aaradhna says it is overwhelming that her single Wake Up just went platinum status. "Music is my way of communicating to others, and my way of expressing myself," the Auckland artist said.

Aaradhna credits her song writing to a bad case of insomnia. "I don't sleep to the regular times, and that's when my songs come," she said. The soul number was written after she had taken a break from the industry and was serving also as a wake up call to herself, to get back into the game.

Aaradhna will be joining Missy Higgings, OpShop and Che Fu for six winery shows starting in Tauranga on February 15.
