The White Lady might be number one on the Lonely Planet's guide of Things To Do in New Zealand, but we locals rarely give it a second thought.
Prepare to change that Auckland as chef Dan Pearson transforms the late-night munchie-stop into a fine dining establishment for one night only.
Pearson, the man behind concept restaurant Egg & Spoon is taking over the White Lady between 7 - 9pm tonight, shaking up the preconceptions of fine dining with a three course burger. No reservations, first in, first served.
Egg & Spoon was started earlier this year as a series of pop-up dining events around Auckland and New Zealand ahead of putting down roots in a permanent site in the next year.
The first event was held at Wine Vault in Grey Lynn, featuring a four-course cheese-tasting menu with matching wine for just 12 people.
Pearson's career spans 15 years, beginning as a teenager in the burger vans of Northampton, England, before working in some of the UK's top restaurants.
He became the head chef of Bracu after moving to Auckland in 2009, before venturing out on his own with Egg & Spoon.
