Top chefs from around the country will put their culinary skills to the test at the New Zealand Culinary Fare later this month.
The event, primarily a trade event, is the largest cooking competition in the Southern Hemisphere, with more than 1000 cooks across 66 classes taking part.
Chefs will compete in 90-minute cook-offs to determine the Chef of the Year and there's also a cocktail making competition.
About 6000 people are expected to visit the free public open day at the ASB Showgrounds on August 21.
Visitors will be treated to free bacon butties from 8am-10am, half price morning coffees, loads of giveaways and can marvel at the wonders of margarine sculpture.
The event, in its 20th year, contributes approximately $1 million to Auckland's economy. For more information visit www.restaurantnz.co.nz
