STAR ATTRACTION: Ali Campbell and UB40 play Auckland's Vector Arena this week.

Looking for something to do this weekend or in the days ahead? We check out Auckland's best events.

Main Event
Ali Campbell's UB40 with Toots & The Maytals - Sunday

Kiwis fell back in love with Ali Campbell when he sat in the judging seat for New Zealand's Got Talent, and now he's the one on stage. Campbell's UB40 will pull out hits like Red Red Wine, and I Can't Help Falling In Love alongside legends Toots and the Maytals, the band credited with giving reggae music its name.

Ali Campbell's UB40 and Toots & The Maytals at Vector Arena, February 3. Tickets from Ticketmaster.

Free Stuff
Pacific Showcase - Saturday

The vibrant cultures of the Pacific are taking over the Auckland waterfront for a series of Saturday events. The Pacific Showcase blends art, food, design and performances every weekend until March. This weekend it's all about live performance, with dance, music and live tattoo work.

Pacific Showcase at The Cloud, starting February 2, 8am - 5pm. Entry is free.

Family Fun
Nitro Circus - Saturday

BMX, FMX, wheelchair athlete Aaron "Wheelz" Fotheringham and a whole lot more high-energy extreme sport will return to Auckland this week. Over 100,000 Kiwis experienced the madness of Nitro Circus when they toured here in 2011; now get ready to see them step it up a notch.

Nitro Circus at North Harbour Stadium, February 2. Tickets from Ticketek.

Date Night
Silo Cinema presents Marley - Tuesday

Take advantage of a bit of a sleep in next Wednesday and spend Tuesday evening watching one of the best documentaries of 2012. Marley is a special mid-week, Waitangi Day (and Bob Marley's birthday) feature for Silo Cinema, telling Marley's story like you've never seen it before.

Silo Cinema presents Marley at Silo Park, February 5. Markets open at 5pm, movie starts at 9pm. Entry is free.

Staying In/Going Out

Described as cutting through clutter with "razor sharp wit and insight", TV One's new current affairs show, Seven Sharp, hits screens on Tuesday. With Ali Mau, Greg Boyed and Jesse Mulligan at the helm, find out if it's a hit or a miss.

The guys at Pop Up Dining are back for one-night-only event on K Rd. Just $10 gets you a Sake braised pork shoulder and a roast pork belly with sriracha, hoisin and pickle. All you have to do is decide which is better.

Seven Sharp, starts February 4 at 7pm on TV One.  Bao vs. Bao at D.O.C. on January 30.
