If a white guy had removed the pillars one would wonder how quick the law would have been on the case but as it is the Mawhera corp nothing will be done as usual. How many more times are we gonna be subjected to this type of vandalism. This guy wants to get a life and remember God created the world. Nowhere in the bible does it say that New zealand is exclusivley for the Maoris - it's for everyone - so this guy should be made to return the gates and restore them and leave our heritige alone - as we respect theirs so should he respect ours.

Re the stolen war memorial pillars ... outrageous insult to all New Zealanders .... easy response is to have all locals and visitors to Greymouth boycott any proposed mall development, from tenants (shops), to advertisers, to professional services involved ie accountants, lawyers, architects etc, builders etc. The Iwi would soon have to back down if their mall became a white elephant.
