People are being told to delete an email scam featuring well-known New Zealand brands that offer $2000 worth of vouchers.
The scam involves an email claiming to be sent from House of Travel offering the chance of two lots of vouchers each worth $1000.
House of Travel said the email was not associated with it and recipients should delete the email immediately.
The email takes recipients to www.greatkiwivoucher.com.
The website asks visitors to select two $1000 vouchers from House of Travel, New World, Kmart or Visa.
The email instructed recipients to claim a prize by clicking on a link and providing contact and bank account details, House of Travel said.
The website fine print indicates the competition is being run by Planet 49 Asia Pacific Pte.
The fine print says: "www.greatkiwivoucher.com website is not affiliated with, sponsored by or endorsed by any of the companies associated with the vouchers."
Planet 49 Asia Pacific Pte has a Singapore address.
House of Travel spokeswoman Jo Wedlock said the scam came to the company's attention late last week.
She was not aware of anyone falling victim to the scam.
House of Travel's digital team had tracked down details of the owner of the URL and had passed that information to the police.
"I just think there are a lot of nasty people out that obviously try to rip off people who are none the wiser, unfortunately," she said.
