Three Wellington companies have taken top honours in their categories at the Telecommunications Users Association (Tuanz) Innovation Awards.
Specialist power retailer Powershop, owned by Meridian Energy, won the initiative of the year award. Powershop lets customers buy power from different retailers in chunks online.
IT services firm Datacom took out the local and central government services award for its website where people list serial numbers of items so police can identify them if they are stolen.
David Ferry from OpenCloud won the innovator of the year award for his work driving the development of the firm's mobile software products.
