TVNZ 7 current affairs panel show Media 7 has found a new home, and a new name, on TV3.
NZ On Air announced it would provide funding for the show, renamed as Media 3 and screening from August on TV3 on Saturday mornings.
The show's host Russell Brown said he was happy with Media 3's Saturday scheduling, alongside other current affairs programming The Nation, Three60 and Think Tank.
"TV3's weekend morning lineup already has a strong following amongst Media 7 viewers and I'm looking forward to being part of that," Brown said.
"I think a key to the character of the show has been that for half the team, me included, it was our first experience in television which gave the show a certain freshness.
"We'll bring that feel to our new home, where we'll doubtless continue to evolve."
The show would continue to broach topics that were often not discussed in the mainstream media, said Brown.
"We've covered everything from trauma journalism to the digital music business on the programme and we'll continue to take a broad view of media.
"There's an audience for a good, lively talk about all the ways we communicate and are communicated with."
Producer Phil Wallington said TV3 had saved "something really valuable for New Zealand viewers" by taking on the show.
"By having a media review programme, Kiwis have the opportunity to see, behind the scenes, how the media works and why certain topics get coverage while others disappear under the radar.
"The media's role in a democracy is to hold politicians, bureaucrats and the movers and shakers of society to account. Our job is to examine and analyse how well they that job.
"It is also a unique vehicle for humour, satire and some pithy observations of the shortcomings and foibles of some well known and important public figures."
There will be an encore screening of Media 3 late on Sunday evenings and the programme will also be available on-demand at www.tv3.co.nz.
NZ On Air chief executive Jane Wrightson said she was thrilled to be able to support the programme.
"Host Russell Brown and the team already enjoy a dedicated following and we are delighted that TV3 has chosen to extend their schedules even further by adding this series."
