Network monitoring company Endace was the big winner at the PricewaterhouseCoopers NZ Hi-Tech Awards, announced at the Wellington Town Hall last night.
The awards were inaugurated 14 years ago to recognise NZ technology businesses that are leading their industries, both domestically and overseas, and acknowledge the people behind them.
Endace took out the PricewaterhouseCoopers Supreme Award for "boldly venturing where few NZ companies had even thought of going," according to the judges.
"An international exporter since day one, Endace stood out this year with its strong combination of product, market and business leadership," they said.
The awards also honoured Gallagher Group founder and chairman Bill Gallagher and the late Trevor Eagle the founder of Eagle Technologies who died in 2000 for the leading contributions they had made to this country's technology sector.
They were joint recipients of the Bell Gully Flying Kiwi Award.
Online accounting system company Xero was also well represented, receiving the award for the best public relations and marketing plan.
Craig Walker, who leads Xero's software development team, won the Endace Young Achiever award.
