My Food Bag launches bargain option for thrifty families
If you have had your eye on My Food Bag for a while but haven't been able to justify the expense, its owners are hoping they have found the solution.
The company that delivers recipes and their ingredients weekly around the country is launching Bargain Box, which it bills as "no-frills" everyday meals that are more affordable.
The offer is aimed at families.
Instead of between $6.60 and about $15.50 per plate for existing My Food Bag options, Bargain Box will feed four to six adults from $5.30 per plate.
Cecilia Robinson, founder and co-chief executive of My Food Bag, said: "The difference is that Bargain Box delivers everyday meals that cut out the frills while also appealing to family members who might be a little pickier.

"That's why we have included Kiwi favourites such as fish and chips, sweet and sour pork and beef burgers. These are also meals that can be stretched for big families or provide plenty of leftovers."
There are two sizes of Bargain Box available - the smaller sells for $79.99 for three nights, plus $10 delivery. The bigger option is $109.99 for three nights.
Customers order a Bargain Box online and receive a box of ingredients and recipes for a week's main dinner meals. The service will kick off next month.
